Graham Friend is a specialist in financial modelling, strategic business planning and valuation and is a leading expert on spectrum auctions and spectrum valuation. Graham has been consulting for more than 20 years and has been in the telecoms sector for over 15 years.

Graham has led more than forty spectrum valuation and auction projects and has guided clients through some of the most complex spectrum auctions in the world. Graham has led projects for both regulators and operators and has delivered projects on every continent. Graham’s experience also encompasses MVNOs, mobile licence applications, due diligence and a wide range of strategic and operational projects.

Graham is also one of the most innovative developers and inspiring facilitators of business games, simulations and management development programmes within the telecoms sector today. Programmes developed by Graham include The Mobile Operator War Game, The X-Venture Game and The Dragons’ Apprentice, which is based on the popular television formats The Apprentice and Dragons’ Den.

Prior to forming Coleago Consulting in 2001 with Stefan Zehle, Graham worked for Cable & Wireless where he provided internal consulting support across the C&W portfolio of mobile businesses and prior to C&W Graham worked as a management consultant at Price Waterhouse Coopers in the Financial Management and Business Appraisal Practice. Graham holds both an M.A. and an M.Phil in Economics from Trinity College, Cambridge and is also a Chartered Accountant.

Along with Coleago’s Stefan Zehle, Graham co-authored the award winning “Economist Guide to Business Planning” and he has also co-authored the “Economist Guide to Business Modelling.” Away from the consulting arena Graham is a keen triathlete and has represented Great Britain at the Age Group Olympic Distance World Championships. Graham lives in Verbier, Switzerland with his young family.
